According to the American Kennel Club (AKC) 2022 statistics, for the first time in 31 years, the Labrador Retriever is no longer the most popular dog breed in the U.S. Its place has been taken by the adorable and compact French Bulldog.

As reported by CNN, the French Bulldog's ranking has steadily risen in the AKC charts over the past decades, moving from 14th place in 2012 to surpassing Golden Retrievers and securing the 2nd position in 2021.

French Bulldogs have become a favorite pet among celebrities, including actress Reese Witherspoon and Megan Thee Stallion.

One reason for the French Bulldog's popularity is their small size and gentle, easygoing nature. This breed tends to bark less and doesn't require as much exercise as larger dogs, making them ideal for people living in apartments or smaller homes.

However, like many other dog breeds, French Bulldogs can face certain health issues, particularly related to breathing. Breeds with flat faces, including English Bulldogs and Pugs, often encounter these problems due to their narrow nostrils and smaller airways.
