Arrow, a spirited dog with a uniquely imperfect face, is now thriving in a home filled with love and acceptance. But his life didn’t start this way—it began with heartbreak and hardship.
As a puppy, Arrow suffered a devastating injury when another dog’s vicious bite shattered his jaw. By the time he arrived at the animal rescue group PMM Rescue Inc., his lower right jaw was irreparably necrotic and emitted a rotting smell from the severe infection.
Veterinarians had no choice but to remove the lower right portion of his jaw entirely, along with part of the upper right side. The life-saving surgery was performed by Dr. Sidhu in Bakersfield, California, who dedicated hours to carefully and lovingly reconstructing the little pup's face.
Despite his physical scars, Arrow’s joyful spirit remained unbroken. From the moment he began his recovery, his resilience and zest for life touched everyone around him.
A video capturing his journey and vibrant personality catapulted Arrow into the hearts of many. Today, Arrow enjoys every moment of his life—playing baseball, learning new tricks, making splashes (and messes) while drinking water, and snuggling with his family.
Though he still spills kibble from his crooked mouth and creates chaos wherever he goes, his adoptive family wouldn’t trade him for anything. They’ve embraced his quirks, following him around to clean up his messes and laughing at his boundless energy.
