A puppy named Piglet was found abandoned in a trash bin at a Sacramento high school, his ears crudely and painfully cropped. The sight of him was heartbreaking, as he was clearly in agony and confused. Thankfully, Haley from the Front Street Animal Shelter came to his rescue, taking him in and ensuring he received the medical care he desperately needed.
Piglet’s road to recovery began that day. When Haley brought him home, he was initially timid and withdrawn, but it didn’t take long for the little pup to start trusting her. Within two weeks, Piglet’s physical pain had subsided, and he found comfort in snuggling with Haley at every opportunity.
Piglet wasn’t the only one who found comfort in this new home. Jasper, Haley’s other rescue dog, quickly became attached to Piglet, forming a close bond. The two are now inseparable, and Piglet is thriving, surrounded by love and care—exactly what every dog deserves after such a rough start.
Thanks to Haley and her compassionate care, Piglet has gone from being abandoned and hurt to being a cherished member of the family.
