Meet Woody, a dog with a unique, curved face who is looking for a forever home. Woody’s journey has been challenging, but his heart is as big as his love for people. Rescued by SNARR (Saving North American Rescued Reptiles), Woody had a tough start in life. When he was just five weeks old, he was attacked by another dog and had to endure the pain without veterinary care. Left alone and tied up by his previous owner, Woody survived for weeks thanks to the kindness of neighbors who brought him food. Eventually, SNARR came to his rescue and brought him to safety.
Woody’s family had moved away, leaving him behind in an environment that lacked love and care. Despite his disfigured face, SNARR made the decision to remove him from this neglectful situation. “Woody looks different from other dogs, but that doesn’t bother us; in fact, it makes us love him even more,” SNARR wrote.
Though Woody’s appearance is unique, his true beauty lies in his loving nature. When he arrived at his foster home, Woody quickly formed a bond with his new family. His foster mother recalls, “I had a fever when we first got Woody, and he sensed something was wrong. He stayed by my side all afternoon, making sure I was safe and comfortable.” Woody is incredibly affectionate and enjoys snuggling on the bed, resting his head on his foster mom’s chest.
At just 8 months old, Woody is now enjoying the puppyhood he missed out on. He is playful, loving, and full of energy. However, his journey to find a forever home continues. SNARR is seeking a family who can give Woody the care and love he deserves. His ideal home is one without cats, as Woody loves to chase them. They also believe he will do best in a home with female dogs, as he tends to get along better with them. Woody gets along well with children and other dogs, especially older, larger ones.
Despite his size, Woody is not aggressive but can become a bit grumpy at times, especially with smaller dogs. His foster family describes him as a large dog with a gentle temperament who enjoys the company of other big dogs. Woody is now in great shape and looking for a loving home where he can be his true, lovable self.
