Despite having limited resources, Nicola ensures that every dog in her care is treated like royalty. She goes the extra mile by celebrating their birthdays, even if she doesn’t know the exact date, and takes them on trips to the seaside or to a local bar for a dinner out. Nicola spends up to £500 on each dog to make sure they have the best end-of-life experience possible. For these dogs, it’s a chance to feel loved and appreciated again, even if it’s just for a short time.
Every dog that enters Nicola's hospice comes with its own story, often one filled with abandonment or neglect. Yet, under Nicola’s care, they are given a second chance at happiness. For the first time in a long while, they are surrounded by kindness and affection, allowing them to spend their final days with dignity and peace.
