Cruel burglars in Mexico are on the run after stabbing a tiny Chihuahua puppy named Pincky with a pitchfork as the brave pup tried to protect its owners' home.
When Pincky's devastated owners returned to their home in Compostela, they were horrified to find their beloved pet impaled on the prongs of the pitchfork.
Graphic images reveal the spikes piercing straight through Pincky's small body. Yet, in an incredible turn of events, the resilient little dog survived after being rushed to a local vet, 'Pet Shop,' by his distraught owners.
Jose Luis Davalos, the clinic manager, shared with the local media: "Pincky had three wounds. The pitchfork went through one of his legs, another point pierced his back, reaching his testicles and abdomen. Fortunately, none of his vital organs were damaged."
Davalos added: "The surgery lasted two and a half hours. The most challenging part was removing the pitchfork without endangering his life."
The pitchfork's rust and dirt heightened the risk of infection, further complicating Pincky's condition, which included a high fever and early signs of organ failure. However, the surgery was successful, and Pincky remained at the clinic for over a week under close observation.
Pincky has since been discharged and is back with his family, who visited him daily during his recovery. The family has filed a police report against those responsible for the attack.
Under local laws, those found guilty of animal abuse can face six months to five years in prison, along with hefty fines.
