It began as an ordinary afternoon in South Texas. A passionate home gardener was going through her usual routine—tending to her plants and giving her backyard paradise a thorough watering—when a small, bright green object in the soil caught her eye. A Tiny Life in Big Danger
When a caterpillar finishes feeding and prepares for its final transformation, it constructs a protective outer shell known as a chrysalis. Deep within this tiny capsule, the caterpillar undergoes one of nature’s most incredible metamorphoses, emerging eventually as a fully formed butterfly.
