When Monique from Washington heard an odd noise coming from her attic radon fan, she assumed it was broken. But instead of ignoring it, she went to investigate — and what she discovered left her stunned.
Peeking inside, she spotted a tiny furry tail caught between the blades. At first she wasn’t sure what it was, but soon realized a squirrel had gotten trapped and was desperately crying out for help.
💔 The poor creature couldn’t escape on his own. Worried for his safety, Monique and her husband immediately contacted Raven Ridge Wildlife Center.
When the rescue team arrived, they found the frightened little squirrel wedged tightly inside. To keep him calm and prevent injury, they carefully sedated him before beginning the delicate work of taking the fan apart.
After working slowly and cautiously, the rescuers finally freed him. To everyone’s relief, he was safe. As soon as he woke up, the squirrel began grooming himself, showing he was feeling much better.
🌿 Not long after, he was released back into the wild — healthy, happy, and free again.
The team later shared:
“We may never know what unique challenges will come through our doors, but our commitment to helping wildlife remains strong. Every rescue makes a difference.”
Thanks to Monique’s quick action and the dedication of Raven Ridge Wildlife Center, one tiny life was saved. Sometimes, what seems like a broken machine is really a call for help — and this time, it was answered.
