On August 26, a heart-wrenching message from Mac’s Mission in Jackson, Missouri, captured the internet’s attention and went viral. The shelter shared a desperate plea for help involving a 16-year-old Chihuahua named Nasa, who had been discarded by his previous owners simply because they were "tired of waiting for him to die."
The shelter's message conveyed their distress: "The thought of having to put him down after he has lost everything he’s ever known feels unbearable."
Despite being at full capacity, the rescue organization didn’t hesitate to step up. They quickly arranged for Nasa to be placed in a loving foster home, ensuring he would receive the care he so desperately needed.
Their post read: "URGENT RESCUE HAPPENING. We are outraged at this rescue case: a 16-year-old Chihuahua dumped at the shelter because his lifetime owners were tired of waiting for him to die. We have zero space but here we are. He is in transport with Chris and on his way directly to our foster Sarah. We got you, little buddy."
A few days after arriving at his foster home, Nasa suffered a seizure, but he has since been recovering and adjusting well. His foster family describes him as "utter perfection," highlighting the profound love and care he’s receiving.
Though Nasa is nearly blind and hearing-impaired, his days, weeks, or months left are uncertain. However, his foster family and the rescue organization are committed to making sure he gets all the love and attention he deserves. With several adoption applications already in, they are hopeful that the perfect person will soon come forward to give Nasa the forever home he so richly deserves.
